Nice work on the run, doc. :nice:

I'd recommend just doing a warm up run (i.e. 10 minute jog/run) before the weights, rather than the speed run, and then do the speed run on a different day, or do the speed run first thing in the morning, and then do the weight work out at night or afternoon. In the past I found this was the best way so I could give both workouts 100%.

Yeah, Im still figuring out the best way to do my workouts. I was running every night at first and found myself struggling with all the upper body lifting because i was too exhausted to keep my form on the lifts, but until tonight i had been doing pretty good with a distance run followed by leg lifts but i was doing about 5.5 mph for 30 minutes instead of 6+ mph for 30 minutes, it was just too much.

Solid weight work plus slightly more than two miles on the treadmill. Thinking of going to the cardio & core class tonight if I get home in time. I want to hit the gym hard between now & the 23rd.
Doc I have weight routine that I do, a class actually, then on my own for treadmill or elliptical. More often than not I follow with some quick upper body work. Sometimes I'll go in just for a shorter, heavier free weight work or cardio. If do treadmill before weights that drains me. I like the structure of the class. It's lower weight (you set your on bar for each muscle group) but higher reps. I like that it makes me finish the routine instead saying "okay, that's enough". It's not a workout that adds bulk but it's really good at toning & defining what you've got.

Doing the leg workout after the treadmill had been good until last night and i know i just pushed it too hard on the treadmill before, but Im not sure what to do to keep from getting nauseous, chloe thought it was that my blood sugar had dropped the first time it happened, so I've tried to eat a light snack and during a decent about of water about a half hour or 45 minutes before heading to the gym, but I've still had a couple of issues since. I guess Im just pushing it too much, but Im going 4 nights a week and doing upper body 2 nights and legs 2 nights, on upper body night i struggle to get a mile on the treadmill after and i want to have at least 1 or 2 nights a week with 30 minutes of running so Im trying to do the long run followed by a quick leg workout. I may try to add a 5th day soon though so i can spread everything out a bit more

Last night your face was bright red though, not white like a sheet the first time it happened. Wasn't a blood sugar issue last night. You probably just tried to do too much. 5th day might be a good idea if you plan to go crazy on the treadmill once a week :)
I hate to say I love you,

10 miles in 71 minutes

Ran with the older kids in the running stroller. First half was into a 25 MPH headwind. Fucking sucked. 38 out. I was knackered and running at half-speed on the way back, but the tailwind was so intense it basically carried us back in 33 minutes. This will probably be the last time both older kids will be able to fit into the running stroller.

Started with the treadmill, did 2 miles in 19:44 and 2.03 in 20 minutes running, then a cool down for a total of 2.10 in 21:12
Then 3 sets of calf extension
3 sets of leg press
3 sets of leg extension
And 3 sets of leg curls
After all of that i had some time to kill so i decided to see how i could do back on the treadmill and i got another mile mile in 10:31 and 1.1 in 12:37

Went to the gym last night for the third time in four days. No workout today but planning to get one in each of the next three days. Want to finish strong before Christmas Eve.

I've worked 55hr weeks in the past month at this night shift job and it has made me fucking soft. I do a lot of walking, but I eat like shit (sugar diet) and my body is getting weak. After Near Years it's back to the weights.

Once again my Saturday morning workout was my best of the week. I've just about reached my peak for working my legs with weights without my knees hurting. To increase I'll need to start using machines or reduce my reps. Hit two miles total on the treadmill. Just missed a mile & 3/4ths in 20 minutes. I know for you runners that's nothing but for me that's a better than average pace. Worked up a good sweat for sure.
Ideally I'd like get another one in tomorrow around lunchtime and then Monday evening before taking a few days break around Christmas. We may have some rough weather tomorrow & if it's really bad I might skip it and there's a chance I may have to work late again Monday, in which case I doubt I will hit the gym afterwards.

Boo-yeah. Got in my three straight workouts Sat/Sun/Mon, now a few days of rest. Let up a bit after two miles on the treadmill so I didn't finish all my weight work but I tired so it's all good.

Had a good upper body work out Sunday, struggled on the treadmill yesterday but got 2.5 miles in about 24:30 and 2.8 miles total in just under 30 minutes. Today we planned on going up to the y before they closed but we didn't have time, so im trying to do some pushups, i suck at them
