i'm watching this show The Bible on History channel. they keep saying "in God's name" but then just go on using the title Lord. anyway, i tried to find a Professor Henry Jones gif worthy of using in my quote...just couldn't find one.simple schoolboy wrote:Using vowels is cheating. At which my rather conservative coworker just kept repeating something about how I should be smarter than that, and brought up the claim that humans are descended from monkeys and how that is (presumably) preposterous. I really didn't push back and tried to disengage but, yikes. He was chiding more than seriously arguing, but still it was a bit awkward. I feel he could have gotten his point across within the first three utterances of, "I thought you were smarter than that".![]()

Re: The God topic
A friend of mine's mother in law passed away from cancer earlier this year. It's a religous family & this is their first Christmas without her. His wife posted this on Facebook earlier today:
Thankful for my best Christmas present to date...My son woke up this morning so excited to tell me about the best dream he has EVER had..."Mom, God spoke to me all night long, and Gamey was there. She told me she hopes this was my merriest Christmas ever. She looked so young, and guess what!?!? She said she doesn't have cancer anymore." The smile and pure joy on Grayson's face was blissful. Thank you, Jesus for this beautiful gift.
The kid's about ten and loved his grandmother dearly. I get that you can skepitically say it was just a dream. That could well certainly be the case. But maybe it was more than the product of his subconcious mind?

I once thought god was talking to me. Turns out I was on mushrooms, and talking to my hand.

Shit went down in here yesterday, huh?
I had a good Christmas this year. This is pretty big news, considering the last three or four, which were ruined by one thing or another.
So now my brain starts wondering who to ascribe my good Christmas to, and my answer to my brain is my wife and family... for the first time in my life.

You'd think that if anyone could settle this, it would be Americans.

America gave up on choosing a side to shoot a long time ago. Just give everyone guns and let the winner prevail.stip wrote:We just need to figure out which side to shootharmless wrote:You'd think that if anyone could settle this, it would be Americans.
