Actually, not too long ago my buddy & I got drunk at his house in Tucson. I didn't feel like leaving the couch to go to bed, so he put on Sound City for me at 2am. I expected to fall asleep, but I watched the whole damn thing. It was nice.

most occupy-related phenomena is divisive, so maybe ruddo's responding to that? or just berkeley in general? certainly tying occupy to what's culturally understood to be the worst kind of poseurs makes sense, if you don't like the politics of the movement or the city. but that might not be what's happening in ruddo's post.

i'm not sure who is interested in the film. either way, i think there will be just as many people at the screenings for the film's politics as there will be for an experience of film. i'll be there for both. and because wiseman is an wonderful filmmaker. (this sort of addresses harry's exasperated "why" in the Begotten post--cause i like seeing all kinds of movies, bruv.)

Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows. As disappointed as I was in the first one I was as pleasantly surprised and delighted by the sequel. B+

Marooned (1969)

Clumsy & outdated at times, but kind of eerie considering it was just a year before the Apollo 13 mission. Some good performances out of the cast as well. Had some similarities to Gravity as well.

But, I'd guess, depending on your crowd, and the number of empty beer bottles on the table, you could trawl through all that and stumble onto a kernel or two of insight.

I actually got myself into a pickle in school. It was halfway through my film studies courses that I realized that I wanted to help make the movies instead of write about them. Oh well.

Just saw 47 Ronin. It was entertaining. End battle scene was well done.
