Yeah, but with the state income tax (or lack thereof), NYY would have had to be at around 147 million to top the Rangers.

Guys, I'm thinking of a trip to Boston when the Jays are in town in July. I know a lot of people hate it, but I really want to see Fenway (I'm big on baseball history) and Cooperstown is pretty much on the way.

I have relatives in Toronto that I want to visit some day, and I might as well time it while the Sox are in town.

Well, the rest of MLB has spent the last 20 years trying to build replicas of it, so it cant be that many people.

Yeah, other than Coach, I thought everyone loved Fenway. And if they don't love fenway, they're idiots.

Yeah, I hope they keep it open as long as they can without it turning into a dump like Wrigley has.

I've seen them play Toronto more than any other club, and there's always tons of Jays fans there. Try to get tickets on the third-base side, out towards left field, they tend to congregate up the line near the Green Monster.

I don't know why either...

Maybe it's just a couple more vocal people I've heard, but the only people I've ever heard complain about Fenway are from Boston, so maybe for some people the historical aspects and novelty wear off over time. Either way, I'm really looking forward to it. I'll ask for food/hotel tips once I have more concrete plans, but I'm already getting pretty excited!

The seats suck and are uncomfortable for any grown male to sit in

it's a (historical) shithole...are all the other teams building ballparks with giant beams, seats that don't face home plate, and glorified obstructed view (aka "Monster") seats?

Probably not. But most other team's stadiums don't have 100 years of history behind them, either.

When I got really into baseball in the early '90s, the three places I wanted to go some day were Fenway, Wrigley and Tiger Stadium. I've already missed out on one, and I would be surprised if the size of the seats in any way impacts the experience.

See, I get it as a tourism/baseball fan from out of town thing. I'd like to get to Wrigley at some point myself. And the size of the seats is part of the experience...once you've been stuffed into one of those things between two other normal sized guys, you'll start to see why people like me who live in the area and would go somewhat regularly chooses not to
