Well it's main purpose is promotion of the upcoming Alice In Wonderland sequel staring Ed's friend Johnny Depp as the careerer Ed is dressed up as. Obviously Ed will write the soundtrack and is using his children to promote it.

Too bad the songs for this soundtrack will be "too personal" as well and we'll never end up hearing this soundtrack either

I guess I feel compelled enough to try to clarify my comment and keep this thread limping along a bit longer.

Ultimately not a big deal. .

I offered two alternatives to how the picture might have been released without offering an opinion on which I thought was more likely. If anything it was an invitation for anyone who did have some idea to chip in. One of the scenarios pointed out how unfair it would be to be cynical about the picture.

The other scenario (and the one that seems to have garnered the attention as being cynical) was tied to how teenage me would probably have been a bit disappointed if it had been intentionally publicy released.... That was just a comment on how I would feel PERSONALLY – and even that wasn’t particularly fussed, hence the “small part of 90’s me” line - but I meant that from the perspective that I generally find celebrity attention whoring and the need to publicly show the minutia of their private lives to be distasteful (particularly when it involves displaying your kids). I didn’t mean to imply any sort of moneygrab intentions, my use of the word promotion might have been unclear but I meant a more general ‘celebrity’ or ‘personality’ promotion.

So, don’t worry, concerned internetters, I only burned 2 effigies of Eddie over this one and cut myself for a couple of hours to make myself feel better. I’m saving the sleeping pills overdose for when somebody from the band poses for a photo with One Direction.
