Well, I'm going to be seeing this movie in a week or two, and I'll be looking forward to online chatting with you about it. Now that's a fact, Jack.

A part of me hates to admit that I have more in common with Frances than probably any other character in the movies. At least at this point in my 20 something life. I wish she could articulate better what she wanted, but I guess she does it through dance. I don't know. That part of her seemed at odds with me.

Other than that, I liked it a lot!

It's #2 on my best-of the year list. I adore Frances Ha.

Oh, just leave us in fucking suspense. What's #1?

And I have a few more movies to see before I make that year end list.

Upstream Color. By a mile.

But I haven't seen very many films this year. I haven't seen many of the big fish that'll likely take home all the prizes.

Only God Forgives. I probably liked this a lot more than most people did. It was like a bad David Lynch movie, which is good.

The Iceman. Michael Shannon was great of course. Everything else was a let down. But it's worth watching.

turned2black wrote:Frozen. Thought it was pretty much the most fully realized Disney animation feature since their excellent run in the 90s. The pacing was great. I liked all but one of the songs. And the "crazy sidekick" character was funny without being annoying. Also, because of the winter theme of the movie, the animation kinda had a unified "look" to it that I loved. This is like 3 or 4 decent animated features in a row from Disney. The world is right again.
I've seen this 5 times now.

Loved it. Llewyn Davis' character had everything that was missing in Frances Ha. A sense of urgency, anxiety, & uncertainity/dread regarding the future.
