this is pretty much the ceiling for new england. they won't beat denver in denver, and likely can't beat any of the remaining nfc teams. still an awesome season, such an entertaining and resilient team.

eight conference championship game appearances in thirteen years. amazing.

I'll just briefly add that if the 49ers win tomorrow, Raiders fans will be staring at one of the absolute worst four team combinations imaginable for the the championship games from their standpoint.

--Broncos: no further explanation needed
--Patriots: I'm sure there's still enough delusional Raiders fans that think if the Tuck Rule didn't happen, they would win that SB, Gruden would stay, and they would start their own dynasty.
--49ers: I really hope people in SF have been letting the East Bay folk hear it.
--Seahawks: AFC West hatred must surely linger.

Didn't get to see the first half, but I don't think anyone's going to beat a 49ers team that plays like they did in the second half (and the roughing the QB call on Skuta was BS, but in the end it didn't matter). It's just a question of whether they can play that way in Seattle.

Kaepernick's accuracy is going to have to vastly improve if they're going to beat the Seahawks.

Agreed, there's some nasty history between the Raiders-Patriots from back in the 70s and 80s when the Raiders benefited from a truly bogus call.

Should be a great weekend of games. You really can't ask for more.

I gotta guess NE-SF, as you get two of the Top Six media markets in there, plus the Brady plays his favorite team storyline to tie Montana with 4 rings.

Agreed. I watched that Colts game in horror. It's not like Denver's defense is really any better than Indy's (though being at home can help, as we saw Sunday). I don't even get how NE does it. They've lost all their good players and they still just execute perfectly on both sides of the ball.

I should do some research and figure out if there's ever been another year where all four teams have a head coach that's been in the SB before.
