A 12 disc R.E.M. FLAC rarities set has been posted here, highly recommended listening

Does anyone know if there is a similar post-2004 rarities collection around? Or at least a collection of fan-club single tracks a la the many PJ ones posted on blogs etc?...

That's fucking awesome. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth but is there info on where these songs first popped up?

Looks like they are the B-sides from all of the cd singles.

Indeed they are, along with compilation/soundtrack appearances, fanclub singles etc...

Oh Chud, you and your horseplay.

The sources are listed on the back cover artwork, and in more detail here:

Unfortunately the tracks themselves aren't tagged at all :?

the "leave" on this is really just the normal 'life less ordinary' version, right, and not some 8:55 long outtake? i assume the 8.55 duration note is an error.

So during this "most influential" discussion, has anyone mentioned Tom Petty (& the Heartbreakers)?

Remnants is fantastic. Highly recommended. It's exhaustive, so there is quite a bit of superfluous material in there. But there were a few songs I hadn't heard before -- and I go back a long way with these guys. Here are three of my favorites, all of 'em cover tunes. Happy hunting!

Filling a box of stuff to take to Goodwill, and came across this shirt. If any of you big REM fans would like it, let me know and you can shoot me like $5 or something for shipping and I can send it to you. Size is a Large, and the shirt is made by American Apparel, so it fits a little slimmer than a typical size large. No holes or anything. No big deal if no takers, just figured I'd throw it out there just in case
