Phoenix in The Master was something special. I remember reading the script long before the movie came out and I thought, "This character seems so flat." It's a testament to Phoenix on how talented & creatve he is.

And I love his style off camera now. He just doesn't give a shit. When you're that talented you gain the respect of good filmmakers and you'll probably never be out of a job. He is everything I would want to be in an actor in Hollywood.

Not to mention how well disciplined & hard working he probably is during the filmmaking process.

A few scenes aside; I didn't like this one. Didn't buy the OS relationships I guess. Sort of boring.

A great concept, but the script fell dismally short of its potential. I'm still glad I saw it because it does raise some interesting points. Joaquin did what he could with the part, but the dialogue was laughably bad at times and the story falls into some pretty stupid holes.

Other than that, it certainly looks great, and the soundtrack is awesome too.

I've learned society (and Spike) frown upon such childish displays.

Anyway, you fool no one, faux-Alex.

Just a beautiful movie. Loved every second. A stunning take on romance and the nature of love. In a way, Scarlett Johansson had the best performance in the movie. I never really pictured Scarlett in my head and actually began to form a completely different picture of what I thought Samantha would look like. Awesome.
