Yeah, that's the more likely and better scenario.broken iris wrote:I interpreted that to mean:EJ wrote:turned2black wrote:The first episode was very good. Don't exactly know what they are setting us up for, but the sense of doom and dread is overwhelming. Love the setting. The shots of the shithole town where they work remind me of a couple of towns I lived in as a kid. And the religious/occult imagery is creepy as fuck.
Mud, Dallas Buyers Club, Wolf of Wall Street, this... McConaughey has been money in the bank. Not sure I've seen him play this type of character before.
All of this is spot on. Really enjoyed that first episode.

Almost looks like League City, Texas (Texas killing fields), which isn't too far away from the southern part of Louisiana.lowlight79 wrote:God, whatever town there in looks awful.

Good stuff. I'd like to watch it again to catch all the names in the investigation. I was surrounded by people who opened chip bags.
I was also surprised by the few times that I laughed. The car scenes with Woody & Matt were ace.

So you like dialogue driven cop shows where they utilize the time spent in the car for sometimes meaningful, sometimes mundane conversation? Perhaps I know a show you may be interested in.Harry Lime wrote:Good stuff. I'd like to watch it again to catch all the names in the investigation. I was surrounded by people who opened chip bags.

Your continuing advocacy for Homicide inspires me, Skitch.@SkitchP wrote:So you like dialogue driven cop shows where they utilize the time spent in the car for sometimes meaningful, sometimes mundane conversation? I really enjoyed it. My wife, from louisiana, also loves it.. and cites how spot on Woody is with the accent. Not too "southern," but just almost a heavy, slower version of speech. I have very high hopes for this series. Plus, you know, Daddario.

Does anyone know if you can pay for HBO month to month, and if so/if not, what is the price? Or is that determined by your cable provider? I'm going to call, I just wanted to know what everyone else pays.

HBO Go maybe? If you have a smart tv or a streaming device, I think. No idea of cost, I'm in Canada where everything American costs more.Harry Lime wrote:Does anyone know if you can pay for HBO month to month, and if so/if not, what is the price? Holy fucking shit that was great! McConaughey is mesmerizing. And I saw some BBC/ITV-level cinematography in that episode.
