Yeah, that one OT blazed through it, ran something like a 4.7. Ridiculous.

There's a pretty nice group of CBs/safeties at varying skill/salary levels, more than average for sure. One player who was actually extremely well rated by a few different sites that I can see them taking a look at is Adam Jones, believe it or not. I could see Sean Smith too.
Sean Smith does make sense--I'd like to hear Dolphins' fans reactions on that possibility. One idea that keeps intriguing me if they can't work out a deal with Welker is to sign away Victor Cruz from the Giants. Giving up the 29th overall isn't that big of a price for a player of Cruz's caliber.
Sean Smith would be an awesome #2 CB assuming you have a lights out CB on the other side...otherwise he's just "ok"

he is one of the ones i would like to see the Bucs make a play at. He would be instantly better then anyone they currently have, and if they draft another CB early then they may not have the worst passing D in history again  Sean Smith or DRC would be nice younger guys with potential to get better.

and both are way better then anyone on the Bucs roster right now, so i wont be upset if they got either one, i just hope they do get an upgrade in FA as wells as one in the first 2 rounds of the draft. if the Bucs really are going to be using their cap space again this year, im really excited for FA to begin

People are projecting Manti going to the Bucs in the first round. I hope not.

I personally think Teo is going to be a pretty solid player, but I'd like him a lot better in the 2nd round rather than the 1st.

I think he's a lot more Curtis Lofton than Patrick Willis.

wasnt he projected to be like one of the best MLBs in years just a few months ago? and if so, is it really just 1 bad game, all this catfish stuff and a bad 40 time that has changed everyones mine? i remember thinking that i would kinda like him on the bucs if they didnt need help in other places so bad, but there was no shot of him falling to 13, now he isnt worth a 1st round pick at all and some saying maybe not even getting drafted till round 3. i may just be remembering wrong, but that is a huge fall from just a little bit of bad stuff.

It depended on who was doing the promotion really. He's been an excellent linebacker since high school and he was great this year. The problem for him is partly that he played for Notre Dame, so he got the requisite, northeastern media hype that ND players get whenever they are better than average. It's true he destroyed the Big 10 this year, but the Big 10 sucked ass collectively this year and they obviously missed the one good team in Ohio State. The only thing that really bothered me a little was how he went on and on to ESPN and everyone who wanted a story about how in love he was with this girl who had cancer who didn't in fact exist. It's a little wierd to say the least and he's so famous, it's going to be hard for him not to be a distraction. My rookie MLB should never be a media distraction.

I think he's going to be a good intelligent linebacker who knows where to be on the field. What I'm really unsure of is whether his game will translate well against the equal or better athletic ability he's going to see on the NFL level and I think it's going to take him a while to get there. Is he going to be a 3 down linebacker in the NFL? Can he cover NFL TE's? Can he get to the QB in the NFL? I don't know.

I want more of a sure thing playmaker in the 1st round especially in the top to middle, and I'm not convinced that Teo is going to be a big time playmaker in the NFL like he was at ND. He certainly could be, but yeah the Alabama game and that 40 time do scare me off some, but then, I'm no NFL GM either and it only takes one.

You guys got Lavonte David last year who was an absolute beast. I don't think Tampa would be that interested in Teo, I'm sure he's going to be solid, but I doubt he's anything like Derrick Brooks.

With the QB's in our division, I think Tampa is either looking for another pass rusher, an Athletic TE (who Atlanta and New Orleans obviously can't cover), someone in the secondary, a speedy coverage linebacker, or an offensive lineman.

yeah, Tampa doesnt have a need for him, though some on the message boards still want Foster moved to outside and them to draft a true MLB, but CB,DT,DE or a falling OL are the biggest need or hope with the first 2 or 3 rounds for Tampa. but the big time fall of Teo is still surprising to me, but i had heard the biggest fear with the slow 40 time is trying to cover the freak TEs these days

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter

Chiefs will trade second-round pick this year - the top pick in second round - as well as another conditional mid-round pick in 2014.

that is being reported as the Deal for Alex Smith

Trading a high second rounder worked out well for the Chiefs last time...

Still, they had to have something better at the QB position than what they had last year.

Alex Smith is an improvement, if only just.

Being a Chiefs fan is starting to feel like being a battered wife. Why do I keep making excuses and coming back?

You guys have had it much better in the past 10 years than Raiders fans have--you can take solace in that. And Reid's a winning coach, he'll have the Chiefs competitive soon.

The Cardinals have it bad in the QB area too. Other than Kurt Warner I think it goes all the way back to Jake Plummer since they had anyone remotely capable.

Regarding all the Te'o talk, the only system that I'd completely rule him out of is the Tampa 2 defense. If the Bucs still use that then they won't draft him. He can't drop back into coverage like a safety. Other than that, I'm torn on his NFL prospects. The big question for me is whether he can consistently tackle in the NFL. If he tackles like he did in the Alabama game then he's not going to make it no matter how talented he is otherwise. The combine might actually be worth a damn if they conducted tackle drills there, but I'm sure that the agents and the NFLPA would throw a fit over that idea.
