i actually listened to vitalogy last week, and was struck by how phenomenal it still sounded

Yield is pretty great but it sometimes bores me. I never feel challenged when listening to it. It can scoot in as background music. When im engaged, it clearly is amazing, but the production, the songs, they are somewhat less engaging than anything on binaural or no code.

I enjoy that Jeff Ament has recently stated it's his favorite record. I can only hope these idiots, once they get over themselves, can all look fondly back on Binaural as the special record it is. Hopefully it's before Mr. Vedder is on his death bed.

I'm pretty sure I've heard all of them say somewhat negative things about it; maybe not that it's bad, but that it's 'okay' or not really a highlight. I have no doubt that the fact that it seems like it was tough to record has an impact on them.
