Ah, had 'em for the first time this year; may have one today while watching the snow but plan on keeping the last of the four-pack for a while.

I gotta say, I'm not a huge fan of the Dragon's Milk.

I've been on a brown ale kick and had a couple of Brooklyn Browns last night and really enjoyed them. Next up is the Koko Brown from Kona Brewing. Anyone try this one? I've never tried anything brewed with coconut before.

The Koko Brown is outstanding, especially on tap - but it's great out of the bottle as well.

Looks like Founders is using Pearl Jam's ticketing software.

http://beerpulse.com/2013/02/beer-fans- ... s-release/
(Grand Rapids, MI) – History has repeated itself over and over again. Got tickets to an in-demand beer event and hope to sell them through an online-ticketing service? Chances are that service is going to crash…as it did today. This time it was Brown Paper Tickets and the in-demand event is next month’s Founders Brewing’s Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) release.

Last year’s release was marred by issues stemming from too many people standing in line for the limited amount of beer available. Founders pledged to rectify the issues by going to an online ticketing system. The brewery aimed to brew 3x the amount this year so a lot of tickets had to have been made available.

But as Ticket Master, Live Nation and others have proven, they are no match for a surge of thirsty beer drinkers. Per Brown Paper Tickets:

Yikes! We messed up. Our servers went into maintenance as higher than normal ticket sales spiked on our site this morning. As a result, our support center is also backed up with calls to help customers through the problem. Our dev team is working feverishly to get things up and running. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you and thank you for your patience.

Founders Brewing had to do its own share of damage control.

We are aware of the issue that many of you are having/had with the KBS release tickets this morning. We have used Brown Paper Tickets for ticketing service in the past and were assured multiple times that their servers could handle whatever traffic we might bring their way. We are actively looking into this issue. Please accept our apologies while we investigate further. Stay tuned…

Complaints surfaced in the usual places and, as of 1:15pm EST, tickets had sold out.

Can businesses running high-demand beer events rely on any of these ticket providers for a smooth sale or is it time to get creative?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I was able to get a ticket. Honestly, going through the hell of the 10 Club sales in the past and the F5 helped me navigate through the process.

It's not the greatest beer, but I've really been enjoying the Allagash Black lately. It's only 7.5%, but for some reason it really hits me over the head.

The mother-in-law bought me a case of Zombie Dust for my birthday. I may reconsider whether I like her or not.

Picked up some Torpedo for the first time in a while. IMO, definitely the best IPA for the price.

If you're in the Atlanta area anytime soon, try Blue Tarp's double IPA. I can't remember the name and thier website isn't up, but it's good, and a little different than most of the DIPA's I've had lately. They are a new brewery over in the Decatur area, which has about 6 opening this year I think.

Great Divide's Hercules is a great DIPA, don't know why I hadn't tried their stuff before.
