I want a version of 'Love's In Need of Love Today' that loops forever.

Re: Stevie Wonder
I recall a couple years ago, during the Live 8 shows that on the old synergy site, a euro fan was trashing how the American stages were lacking legends on par with McCartney, Floyd, etc. I brought up Stevie Wonder and was immediately rebuffed. I think a lot of the time "rock" fans overlook even the most mainstream of Motown legends, and their impact not only music, but also on culture.

Re: Stevie Wonder
In terms of modern popular music, you can argue that other individuals are on the same level as him, but it would be absurd to argue anyone is on a higher level than him. He's absolutely criminally underrated by average music fan. He made sensational pop records in his teens and in his twenties had maybe the greatest run any artist ever had in terms of making records that pushed boundaries, broke ground, influenced the direction music went in, and had a huge, enduring popular impact all at the same time.

I've also heard he is the reason rock bands use electric guitars.Lament wrote:In terms of modern popular music, you can argue that other individuals are on the same level as him, but it would be absurd to argue anyone is on a higher level than him. Don't be silly. Everyone knows Led Zeppelin invented guitars.

Apparently the biggest influence on Matt's drumming is not even a human, but the Deathwatch Beetle.

The intro to 'Sir Duke' is so hilariously happy.

Holy shit the drumming on 'I Wish' is stellar, particularly the snare / hi-hat interplay.

Re: Stevie Wonder
I started my Stevie Wonder journey with Music of My Mind based off one of Lament's posts on page 1.
I feel like a window to my soul has been opened for the first time.
There's no going back now.

Bring it down a little. Love is very peaceful, so bring it down a little.
