Re: Super Bowl XLVIII: The Cannabis Bowl
I dunno, Denver's game all year has been short, quick passes and that's not likely to change (at least in terms of game plan) for a cold weather game against a team with a tough D. The whole idea is to make pass rush irrelevant by throwing the ball before anyone could get home anyway.darth_vedder wrote:This is what I'm thinking. The Seattle D is nasty, and I think they rattle Manning. However, Manning is damn good, and finds ways to win, so what do I know? Still, I think the Seattle D knocks Manning off his game a bit, and edge out a win but with the Broncos threatening to take the lead / tie the game close to the end.Bammer wrote:The key to this game will be pressure on Manning. If Seattle can cover receivers and he doesn't get passes off quickly, our rush will get home for sacks because he can't run away from them (like a Kaep or Newton can).
Seahawks by 10 (pending sketchy "Protect Peyton's legacy / hold Seattle down" officiating a la' SBXL and Jerome Bettis).
To that extent the question is Denver's very good set of receivers against the elite cover guys on Seattle. If Peyton can find even one cover guy to pick on, it'll be interesting.
I certainly do anticipate more of a sluggish start for Denver's offense, with them maybe getting a couple big plays here or there throughout the game to keep them in it. But that's also why I say if they can somehow jump out to an early lead, they'll be in a very strong position.
But maybe we have it all wrong and the story will be how Denver's defense could;t stop Settle at all, or how Seattle could never get their offense going and Denver wins even with a less than awesome offensive performance.

I'm getting nervous. I'm at the point where all I can picture is worst case scenario stuff like Denver not getting any yards after the catch, and after going nowhere for a few drives Manning starts pressing, turns the ball over and the route is on.

Yeah, Seattle is the better team. This is not going to go well.
Manning's the greatest ever regardless of this outcome.

If Seattle wins, everyone better be betting a defensive MVP.

Yeah, unless one singular defensive player gets lucky with multiple turnovers, with a SEA win it would likely be Lynch, or even Wilson. Though, it would be fun to see some massive crow eaten if Sherman won it.warehouse wrote:beast mode for mvpChris_H_2 wrote:If Seattle wins, everyone better be betting a defensive MVP.

Re: Super Bowl XLVIII: The Cannabis Bowl
It will be pretty impossible for Sherman to win it. I can't see there being any matchup involving Sherman where Manning sees it as the go to option. If plays are going Sherman's way it is only because Denver is already losing.Green Habit wrote:Yeah, unless one singular defensive player gets lucky with multiple turnovers, with a SEA win it would likely be Lynch, or even Wilson. Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.
