This thread is so much worse than the Post-Riot Act Money Grab thread.

the Post-Riot Act Money Grab thread is why I wake up in the morning. This thread sucks.

I guess this kind of thing is to be expected from a fanbase that in general gets sad whenever anything other than a guitar ends up on a recording and talks about non-guitar instruments the same way old people talk about smart phones or any other sort of technology they don't understand. I mean, synthesizers have only been prominent in rock for, what, forty-three years? And the reaction among Pearl Jam fans when they show up on a record is all "OMG LASERS!"

I love all of their non-traditional/experimental catalogue

i love Push Me Pull Me the best

and I love Betterman second best

I think Bugs might be the most charming

I think writer's block might be the least charming

and I think Master/Slave should be considered part of this category, and a positively ranked part at that

Once again, Stip with the dissenting opinion. It is certainly his motus operandi

I tend to be in the camp that this thread sucks much more than the moneygrab thread

Should we have a poll, or maybe rank the relative level of suckness?

ITT: What's wrong with this thread?

-comparing experimental songs is an apples to oranges exercise
-lack of comprehensive list of generally accepted 'experimental' songs and borderline 'experimental' song candidates
-lack of quality dialogue in relation to the definition of 'experimental'
-lack of crotch shots that zoom in and out quickly

Hell of an experiment, that one.

Really sets up the closing out of the arc of the album in an exponentially escalatory, yet experimentalistic way
