And Bleach very much was critically lauded upon it's release, so the idea that it's only held up because of Nevermind and In Utero doesn't really hold water in my opinion.
This.

And then there's this, which is other reason Geffen signed Nirvana. The tapes made from that session set off a bidding war amongst the major labels. It's still a great listen and one of the best "unreleased" (though released in full now, with one exception) albums you'll ever hear.

I was not aware that bleach was critically acclaimed before nevermind. Now we can just chalk this up to people being too easily impressed rather than Kurt Cobain mythologizing!

I may not agree with what Stip says, but I'll defend to the death his right to say it. Especially now that it has its own thread.

Also, Scentless Apprentice is the goddamn best kind of face-fuck rock. I LOVE it.

yeah, but I really only mod one forum.
I's just busting your chops, friend. Personally, I like it when threads derail and become about whatever. Keeps shit exciting. Most of my favorite threads right now aren't really about what the thread title says they're about.

You do good work, is what I'm saying, I guess. You're just an idiot about Bleach.

I think Radio Friendly Unit Shifter is the only 'meh' thing about In Utero. Everything else is aces!

It's not bad, it's just not as good as the rest of the album. Still, worst song on In Utero is still pretty great.

Milk It is great. Tourette's would be annoying if it was longer. But as it is, I think it's pretty brilliant. Great placement, great burst. Tongue in cheek. Yeah, it works really well, I think.
