I'm going to get some carryout pizza on the way home tonight and then not open it. I'm sure it will taste all the much better if I wait until Saturday to eat it. You know, so I can build up a little excitement about it. I'm really going to be happy tonight and tomorrow that I have that pizza to look forward to on Saturday.

You know what? Shit, I'm going to wait until Sunday. That'll make me really excited!

And don't take it personally. I see it happen all the time. Drips like you without any personality trying to be humorous just leads to disaster. It is sad sometimes (like your pizza analogy). Just don't try to be funny again and you should be alright. You just have to realize that some people are born with a sense of humor (Richard Pryor, Jerry Seinfeld...) and some people are not (Adolf Hitler, you).
