Awesome but dagnamit - I entered a (poorly publicised) competition to win tickets to that show ten times

Ah well, I am seeing them both at the Opera House (separately) in the coming month so I no complain...

They were great in Sydney. But when the tour every 4-5 yrs and you get 1 show and it's a festival, it's a bit annoying. If it goes to form and they tour again in 2018 and they play an arena, that's 12 yrs between indoor shows.

I went to Sydney and it was fucking awesome. Go if you get a chance. The crowd was pretty good all day.

Agreed.

I was actually pretty chipper about the whole thing heading into it, I thought it would be fine; I was wrong, it was actually kind of a bummer.

Oh well, roll on 2018.

I think I was the exact opposite. Initially a little at the BDO announcement but had a great time.

I'd be pissed if I bought tix to Perth BDO just to see PJ - Facebook post tonight by Big Day Out's official page:
After announcing this week that 2014 is the last year for Big Day Out in Perth, we are extending a warm invitation to Pearl Jam fans to come down to Arena Joondalup tomorrow, Sunday February 2nd, where all tickets purchased at the gate after 6:00PM will be available for $100 all inclusive.

This is the first time Pearl Jam have played a festival in Australia, and with a cracking 2.5 hour full concert set lined up for tomorrow, it's not one to be missed!
One last ditch attempt to soften the blow of financial ruin.

Varis my good man - I would totally go tomorrow if I were you, it's basically an ol' fashioned arena show

Well, fuck. That's a good way to try to score some kind of record number of attendees at the final gig.

Fuck! I'm free in Perth tomorrow night with my 13 year old son who has never been to a full-blown concert as yet. This may actually happen you know. PJ as a first gig for him and the ability to say he attended the last Perth BDO might just do it.

Thanks for the pm Brad, I wasn't aware of this. Decisions, decisions.

...

And yeah, I'm absolutely no good at parties. Like I said, people generally suck, and I am certainly people.
