i think it might be better than Sea Change as well... certainly less sad and more uptempo anyway.

best since then regardless

Beck discusses new album on NPR:

They say he's pretty hard on himself. Well, this is the same guy who wrote "Nobody's Fault But My Own".

I like the sound of that. I like Guero more than Sea Change, however. And The Information had some pretty damn good songs on it...but a lot of fat should've been cut. I gave Modern Guilt another shot yesterday, I still only find it mildly entertaining.

if we are honest sea change is prob overrated and not even in the top 3 beck albums. I mean I do love the mood of Sea Change, but when I think about it in retrospect I can only recall like 3 songs

right now this isn't pulling me at all but I hope it will.

There's several albums I reach for before going to Sea Change.

I haven't heard anything beyond Blue Moon, but I'm really looking forward to this album.

Mutations and Odelay come to mind.

This is good though, guys. real good.

I'm going to hold off on critique until I get the official release.

My favorite is Phase-Waking Light

I love "Country Down". Beck said in that NPR interview that he orginally intended to write a Nashville record. ErrrmaGod. DO IT, BECK.

From what I've read he basically did but some of it ended up on this record.

I usually can't get into stuff this mellow, but like Sea Change this album is too good to not get into. Nice mellow stuff.

Yeah, I'm going to use a word I don't use too often when describing something nowadays. Adore. As in, I adore this album, start to finish. It's better than I had even hoped. And at this point, I'm not even sure which song I like the best yet. It's got a great start and a great end, and the ebbs & flows are fantastic throughout.

What a perfect 'morning' album to listen to after a hard night...
