watched Bone Collector the other night.

eh.

I quite liked that till the end - then I just wanted to throw my TV around the room

i mean, it wasn't bad. yea, the ending...ugh. Jolie annoyed the hell out of me for no apparent reason.

It was just the ending that did it for me. Spend the movie trying to put together clues and junk that they've been showing you - then at the last minute go 'Oh, by the way - we know we haven't hinted at this during the movie at all, but in the past this guy got pissed off because of...... - so it's him!'

Finally saw Her. I'm so used to Kubrick & 2001 showing us how technology helps dehumanize a person. Spike Jonze shows us that it can help us find emotions that we never knew we had. Eh. Maybe. A very beautiful movie, though.

Anyone who has to pretend they are that nice all the time is hiding from something sinister. That's a fact. I'm speaking about the hipster morons depicted in Her.

Yes, it felt like Phoenix's character had a lot of unresolved emotional issues. It could have been just his loneliness. But he explained how he had problems even during his marriage with Rooney Mara. Maybe he was just trying to find his identity? Mid-life crisis type thing. Because all the "hipsters" in the movie looked & acted the same. No distinct identity. I found that odd. And maybe in the end he found a rebirth. Maybe that helps clear things up. I can't speak for Mr. Jonze.

Finally watched Inside Llewyn Davis. To be honest, it was kind of disappointing.

I think I may have just been looking forward to it too much. I enjoyed the cinematography and (some of) the music, but it really felt flat otherwise.

I felt Llewyn's pain. It's a selfish pain. It hurts to be your own worst enemy. What Im saying is that it's a great movie, so what the fuck is wrong with you?

I re-watched Frances Ha the other night. I still love it, but I think I knock it down a couple of pegs on the list. It's first impression is better than the film. Maybe. Anyway, I think American Hustle is a better movie now that I've seen it again.

was watching Frailty. got bored, looked up the synopsis. so, the ending just totally ruined everything for me.
