Why would any city ever want to host the Olympics? And compete for it? Madness.

Re: Olympics
The only baseball jersey I think I still own is a 1983 Carlton Fisk jersey I got fourteen years ago.doug rr wrote:who would win a 50yd dash- chud or carlton fisk?
I think that means I need a chud jersey now.

He played for the White Sox for longer than he played for the Red Sox. And he's got a statue on the concourse in Chicago.

Re: Olympics
For the record, I'm not arguing that he doesn't have a significant legacy with the Red Sox. I'm just saying he's got every bit as much of a legacy with the White Sox (perhaps even moreso, seeing as though he was THE face of the franchise for an entire decade, and no one else was even in the conversation).

Re: Olympics
Fisk's single most memorable moment is as a Red Sox player.... but to me he is a White Sox catcher. Very similar to Kirk Gibson in that regard.

I have some stuff I need to return to FansEdge, so I was gonna exchange it for a chud jersey, but they're all out of my size.

lol @ the Olympics thread being about baseball - which was conveniently removed from the Olympics.
