I first met Eddie Vedder backstage at CBGB's on the 9th of November 1991 - I was there to photograph Pearl Jam for Melody Maker… Eddie wasn't too bothered with the process, his only concern was to get on stage, his intensity, passion & enthusiasm instantly drew me in - I think I may have been the only photographer to shoot Pearl Jam for Melody Maker.
The last time I photographed Eddie for the Maker was shortly after Kurt Cobain's suicide. Neither of us were in a good place, our world had turned inside out. Images from that session on the 17th of April 1994 backstage at New York's Paramount treatre are the last entry in my forthcoming Nirvana diary book & the last time I worked with Eddie as a Melody Maker photographer.

I wonder if Ed mentioned that their new album was inspired by the lightning bolt in between the AC & DC.

Re: Random Pearl Jam References
I was reading some reviews of the solo shows and one mentioned he wasn't drinking wine. Could it be that alcohol is the only way he can put up with the Pearl Jams?
