I'm not usually a fan of it either but I like how it works in that shot.

What kind of camera are you using? Surely not a phone.

If I wanted to also be like a modern day mobile phone Ansel Adams, what should I get?

95 percent of these are from my S4. I think there are a few old photos (~10 years old from San Fran) in here from an old Canon subcompact.
