When was the last time you skipped an album track?

Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

When was the last time you skipped an album track?

Post by washing machine »

For me, it was October of 2003.

I had just bought Belle & Sebastian's Dear Catastrophe Waitress and just wasn't feeling the flow of "You Don't Send Me" in the important Track 7 slot. I've since come around on that song and that album, though. It took years of discipline to not skip that track, but I believe that I'm a better listener for it.

You?

Skipping is whatever, but I straight up deleted "Charmer" from that Kings of Leon album. Song sucked then and it sucks now.

That's not even close to being true.

This entire interchange has felt a lot like a David Glass PM session.

I don't hate them they just don't tend to hold my interest over multiple listens. Once or twice is enough. A million things go through my mind with instrumentals that make me kinda nuts. I keep waiting for someone to start singing even when I know no one will. I wonder why they decided to not add vocals. Was it they couldn't think of a good melody? Are they being lazy. Can I come up with a good melody? No what I just came up with sucks. I'm hungry. Are they just filling space? Why are they just repeating the same riff over and over? Oh shit its moms birthday tomorrow. Maybe if it was shorter I would like it. There needs to be another guitar solo there. They should swap those parts. Is it racist to call this Hispanic Impressions? What does that even mean? Then the song is over. I figure why subject myself to all that.

As someone who generally prefers instrumentals to sung music, that's unfathomably odd.

Diff'rent strokes, etc!

That came up on shuffle for me today and it was the first time for about 10 years that I didn't skip it.

I skipped track 7 on Sigur Ros' () today because I only had 15 min left before I had to leave and I wanted to hear track 8 (Popplagio) in its entirety. Am I ok?
