It really does a great job of highlighting certain qualities that were tucked carefully underneath the surface of the song to begin with, but which were exactly those elements that disengaged so many of us.

It does perfectly capture the horrifying combination of cheese, bombast and earnestness present in that song. In a way it's the best pearl jam cover I've ever heard.

I don't think I care much about lyrics. There's hardly any PJ lyrics that make me cringe.
