for some reason, i just got this feeling that these guys would record an album and get it out next year. which would get them back in a two year rhythm like their first 7 albums.

then i remembered that band was not Of The Earth any longer. happy fuckin' memorial day, rm.

A bit more touring.
Absolutely no new material (i.e. the BSides and EP that we want, but will never see until the whole band have died of old age).
A bunch of already released live material.
New shitty merchandise (PJ branded potato peelers and mops, hurrah).

From the side projects/individual band members?
Great new original material.
Some touring.
Good times.
You haven't been too far off.

So the rumoured EP follow up to Lightning Bolt seems to be gathering steam - an alleged tracklist has been released.

1. Deluded
2. Wave Breaker
3. (I Won't) Hold On
4. Eat Your Greens
5. Starlight
6. Of The Earth (bonus track)
7. Betterman (live) (bonus track)

Not much information about the songs themselves, apart from Eat Your Greens which a source describes as a "thrashy no nonsense 2 minute punk romp."

Pearl Jam will spend the months of August and September doing what they love best: not playing music together

How their 2 months will be spent:

Mike - Doing interviews with music mags talking about the Superunknown reissue. A special guest spot at a charity show where he'll play a song from the 80s.
Jeff - Go home, skateboard, and write songs in his studio that won't get touched by PJ
Stone - Eat salmon
Matt - Do an entire side project
Ed - Smoke weed

Ed, most likely will kick his wife out for choosing the wrong wine one time too many.

"Get. Out. Now. Right. Now!"

either that, or he will fight Hulk Hogan for the belt on WWF Saturday Night's Main Event...

Matt Cameron will continue to suck until he gets back with Soundgarden...

Jeff and Stone will reunite MLB, with Brett Michaels as lead singer...

Mike will poop.

Ed, Stone, Jeff, Mike, and Matt will approve the latest round of merch (kitty litter pans, pajamas with feet, coffin) without bothering to look at it. They'll also okay the next round of European shows (Berlin, baby!) and festivals. Won't get near a studio until 2016 or so.
