Flirting with Disaster.
One of those movies I've been meaning to see for a while. Some pretty good bits in the first hour but the last 30 minutes ascends to a screwball comedy the Marx Brothers would be proud of.
But you probably already knew that.

i watched Young Sherlock Holmes (Levinson, 1985) today with my girlfriend and kids and it was a major throwback at my nerdy childhood (i saw that in a theatre in 85 and hadn't watched it again until today). Everyone thought it was really good - my daughter found it amusing to see the many Harry Potter similarities. I think it's a great forgotten movie from the era of Raiders of the Lost Ark and co.

It starts rough but gets better. It's of those movies such as "Like Crazy" where they eschew escapism to they point where it's like watching the lives of some causal friends.


Watched "Lust For Love" last night in honor of V-day. Wife hated it, but I thought there was a few good moments.

Oh man, I loved Drinking Buddies. I've seen it several times now and it's easily in my top ten of the year.

I really like man against nature flicks and this one was well done. No dialogue, just a fight for survival. Impressively acted out by old man Redford.

He's dead, right? So him finally giving up allows him to be saved by God, or whatever? I don't really have a big problem with that. Although we really didn't know anything about this guys life, so I'm not sure it fit with the rest of the movie.

We didn't even know his name. What we learned in that letter is that like us he had regrets. And in that way it's better that we don't know his name, and instead put ourselves in his position. That's what I got out of it. I agree that he died. I just thought it was a little cheesy.

can't argue with that. It would have more been fitting to just end the movie with him sinking, finally at peace. As it is, it didn't take much away from the movie for me.

I still remember the whole Tonya - Nancy story. I was at the US when this thing blow up and i cant forget how weird the story was. Good doc, i wish Nancy would have appeared but anyway it was very well made.

Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. It's inspired by The Beatles, so of course it's shit. Watching Peter Frampton try to act was worth the price of admission, though. Actually, what he was doing could only be described as nega-acting. He may also be mentally retarded.

Hobo With a Shotgun. Actually pretty funny, if you're into this sort of thing.

Only the best in the burtreynolds household.
