Yeah, really dig this show. The acting is pretty stellar and Margo Martindale is a favorite of mine. Matthew Rhys' face is really weird to me. I think they may put too much makeup on him. His eyeliner is over the top. It's distracting as fuck.
I actually find the relationship between Elizabeth and Phillip far more interesting than all the spy stuff.

The show is very good, very well written. I think some of the last few episodes really got me hooked. The one where philip went to the conference and ran into the woman he wanted to marry was done very well.

I was just on the verge of giving up on this one when it really got good about 4 episodes ago.

The episode tied to the Reagan assassination attempt was fantastic.

I'd like to watch this but only the last few episodes are on demand. I hope they do a marathon sometime soon.

The wife and I finished Season 1 last night. This show is pretty fantastic. It seemed to get better as the season went on. Keri Russell is great and I would expect her to get an Emmy nod.

I have heard this season will be alot darker and more about how close the FBI is to them.Coach wrote:New season starts on WED: http://www.fxnetworks.com/theamericans

Really looking forward to this. Early reviews of Season 2 have been great. Happy to see Margo Martindale will be back.

Is this show a 'must watch'? I am thinking of starting it.

I think it's a "must watch". For me, it's well-written, well-acted and has just a hint of an '80s nostalgia trip.
It's not True Detective or Broadchurch by any means, but it's very good.

I'd call it a "must watch." It's no True Detective, but it's certainly deserving of your attention. Plus, I don't know what it is, but Keri Russell in 80s gear is hot.

Indeed, but I'd still give a significant edge to Annet Mahendru who played the Russian consulate chick.Coach wrote:I'd call it a "must watch." It's no True Detective, but it's certainly deserving of your attention. Plus, I don't know what it is, but Keri Russell in 80s gear is hot.
Good show though, looking forward to this season. There were some very slow episodes early on last year, but I'm glad I stuck with it. I really enjoyed the last few eps of season 1.
