Just finished the season. A good watch with great performances, but it seemed to plod along. The last few episodes were all very predictable.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more it seems like a disappointment.Evvo wrote:Just finished the season. A good watch with great performances, but it seemed to plod along. The last few episodes were all very predictable.

None. Watched 4 episodes on Friday, then 9 episodes on Saturday (!!!) without a single issue.

No issues here either. I believe there is an option to even stream it in 400k, but I don't know anyone with that fancy of a TV.

Only about 5 episodes in and I'm a bit bored so far. First episode was quite good, but the rest haven't been nearly as engaging as the first season. Hope it picks up.

Re: House of Cards (Netflix)
I didn't really care for Season 2. Season 1 worked so well because of the initial shock of the nastiness/depravity of it all, but once you get past that, there needs to be something meaty. Great performances from the leads, but a fairly weak/dull story. All of his opponents seem too weak. It wasn't bad enough for me to drop the show, but it was a big disappointment.EJ wrote:Only about 5 episodes in and I'm a bit bored so far. Re: House of Cards (Netflix)
I saw this season as setting up for a catastrophic follow-up. A lot of characters out there at this point who all become a problem if his control ever slips.turned2black wrote:I didn't really care for Season 2. Anyway, nobody wants to see a house of cards fall until it's appropriately tall.

He needs a real antagonist that can challenge him, not just a bunch of easily led morons.

Oh man, I hated him and his entire storyline. Borderline unwatchable. Like something out of a late 90s cyber-thriller, scored by Powerman 5000 and Static-X.McParadigm wrote: Gavin was magnificent.

Re: House of Cards (Netflix)
Yes, what was a well-portrayed version of a tired stereotype doing in this show about sinister politicians, hands-in-every-pot businessmen, cold and calculating right hand men, and gritty boots-to-the-ground reporters who know, but can't prove, the terrible truth?
