Just finished the season. A good watch with great performances, but it seemed to plod along. The last few episodes were all very predictable.
Spoiler: show
Pretty disappointed that the Lucas/Tom/Janine angle was finished pretty quickly. Would have loved to see more of Gavin too.

Did she need to leave the show for a better role you think? Or was this purely just a shocking plot development? I'm guessing she was written out for real world reasons. In either case, they can't go to that well anymore. It was awesome though. All these people are so evil, I was pretty happy she died. fuck that ho!

At least I got to see Kate Mara's sweet, sweet ass one more time.
Spoiler: show
Yeah, I dunno, I found that kinda crappy. Bring her on for a sex scene, then an ass shot, then quickly dispense of a character that was integral to season 1. It felt, I dunno, kind of cheap, especially considering (SPOILER WITHIN A SPOILER, DON'T HIGHLIGHT THIS TEXT UNTIL YOU'VE WATCHED THE WHOLE SEASON) it doesn't really lead anywhere.

Also, when it first happened I was convinced it was a nightmare sequence and Zoe would wake up screaming

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more it seems like a disappointment.

Spoiler: show
I didnt read all of your spoiler. I've only seen the first 2 episodes, so I may be totally wrong here...

The nudity seemed on par with the first season, so it kinda helped set up the shock later, I think. Business as usual, so to speak. The fact that she died so early in the first episode leads me to believe it wasn't a Game of Thrones type event. Maybe she had a movie role or something? I dunno, I'm just guessing.
(through episode 2, Chud)

It certainly seems like the kind of leave-off that indicates the possibility for character returns later on.

Gavin was magnificent.

None. Watched 4 episodes on Friday, then 9 episodes on Saturday (!!!) without a single issue.

No issues here either. I believe there is an option to even stream it in 400k, but I don't know anyone with that fancy of a TV.

really didn't spoil much for me. just will have me wondering who gets

whacked
That's still a spoiler, in my book,
Spoiler: show
in that it builds anticipation. It's like someone saying "oh, that movie is great, you're gonna love the twist"... it's gonna ruin the experience of being pulled along by the diegesis because you're gonna be on the lookout for a twist. So out of courtesy I use the spoiler code.

gotcha

Finished this last night.

Very Spoilery...
Spoiler: show
Predictable final shot in the finale. I have a feeling the Rachel storyline is going to be his ultimate undoing, but I am on board for the shenanigans of his presidency.

Only about 5 episodes in and I'm a bit bored so far. First episode was quite good, but the rest haven't been nearly as engaging as the first season. Hope it picks up.

I didn't really care for Season 2. Season 1 worked so well because of the initial shock of the nastiness/depravity of it all, but once you get past that, there needs to be something meaty. Great performances from the leads, but a fairly weak/dull story. All of his opponents seem too weak. It wasn't bad enough for me to drop the show, but it was a big disappointment.

I saw this season as setting up for a catastrophic follow-up. A lot of characters out there at this point who all become a problem if his control ever slips.

Anyway, nobody wants to see a house of cards fall until it's appropriately tall.

He needs a real antagonist that can challenge him, not just a bunch of easily led morons.

Oh man, I hated him and his entire storyline. Borderline unwatchable. Like something out of a late 90s cyber-thriller, scored by Powerman 5000 and Static-X.
Spoiler: show
Also, uh, what the hell was that pet of his? A rabbit?

Yes, what was a well-portrayed version of a tired stereotype doing in this show about sinister politicians, hands-in-every-pot businessmen, cold and calculating right hand men, and gritty boots-to-the-ground reporters who know, but can't prove, the terrible truth?
