My comment was about Chad Smith's schtick I must have skipped past where someone got on you.

They're both relevant though; I didn't appreciate Chad's 'joke', that's where it started. But apparently I'm not allowed to say that because he's giving a bunch of money to charity, and because RHCP are totally kewl.

Then I stand by my statement. I'm for Chad's right to try and be funny and your right to be offended by it. If the discussion as to whether or not the joke was funny descended into personal attacks on you then that's not cool.

What's the difference between personal attacks on me, and Chad's personal attack on everyone that takes medication? You can think what you like, but ultimately if you watch someone get punched, and respect the right of the bully to punch, that's pretty strange. People need to get off this idea that words don't mean anything, and if they mean something to you, it's your own fault. The sad thing is you'd probably think I had a point if you felt no need to defend this shitty band.

the thing is that chad's joke is not an attack on everyone with mental illness. there is no way that was his intent. But I guess you would argue that intent doesn't matter, because of the "meaning" that is necessarily attached to the word, or something like that, harmless? I think even luny was using the charles manson video in a totally frivolous way. I don't think it was intended to be anymore personal than him calling you cray cray or something dumb like that.

I understand Chad Smith's use of it because he was being jokey and deliberately ridiculous to play up his "feud" with Ferrell, but LuNY telling Harmless he takes meds "for the crazies", then posting a video of a babbling Charles Manson (when Harmless's posts, as a whole, make a lot more sense than LuNY's meandering ramblings) is mean-spirited and ableist.
