Ya, Bada. It's seriously better than anything on that list. It's such a good book.Kaius wrote:Bada, don't fuck with mebada wrote:I'm never going to get to Invincible.

The constant talk about Injustice made me seek the series out; I was hooked so fast. Between this and Earth 2 they're doing very interesting things with some particular characters.i got bugs wrote:New injustice on tpb

Guys, I'm really excited there's finally going to be a nice looking Red Hood figure! This Arsenal one is pretty bad ass looking too.

I'll have to get Starfire too to complete the team of course.

Re: Calling All Comic Geeks!
I picked up vol. 2 of Peter Panzerfaust.

Not quite as good as vol. 1, but still very good. I loved the new characters that were brought in.
I also picked this up last week.

I fell completely in love with this series when I bought the first volume off of Amazon on a whim (it also happened to be signed by Mr. Starkings himself). The story was so engaging, and dat art. OMG THE ART IS FUCKING GORGEOUS. I can't tell you how it reads in single issue format, but these collections are wonderfully put together. As silly as the premise may sound, it's comes off as gritty and believable in the sense that if this were possible then this is how it would happen. Don't like your comics so serious? Don't worry, they balance it out nicely with a blend of comedy and gratuitous sex appeal. The only downside is the books are kind of heavy, so you almost have to read at a table or laying on your stomach, and I much prefer to read laying on my back. Another recommendation of the highest order to those who are hesitant to swim in strange waters.
Speaking of strange waters...I picked up a couple of #1's last week that are very aquatic by nature. I sometimes buy first prints of debuts just in case they take off and end up worth something someday.
Of course, I still read them, so even though I can't really afford to be throwing more books on my pull list, I'm always at risk of being pulled into a book's vortex of power. Anyway, the books:

It had an Indiana Jones searching for Skull Island (King Kong) kind of feel to me. Here's a nice review that reflects what I think better than I can probably say: http://www.denofgeek.us/books-comics/th ... ics-review I'll definitely be picking up issue #2.

Atlantis re-invisioned! here's some reviews if you're interested: http://comicbookroundup.com/comic-books ... undertow/1
This is a unique take on the Atlantean mythology, and the art gave me the sense that I was dreaming (or under the influence of pyschedelics). I'm undecided if I'm going to continue on this one. Although I can see potential for a great book here, I'm not sold either. I'll probably give it another read or two before I know what I really think.

Read Undertow and Mercenary Sea. Enjoyed Undertow the art was pretty wild but Mercenary Sea fell flat with me. I had high expectation cause I love that pulpy genre stuff but it didn't do it for me. Read some Peter Panzerfaust I enjoyed it but not enough to keep reading. I think I'm in the same boat with Invincible(don't hurt me). I'll have a look at Elephant Men. Lat week was pretty weak for comics with the exception being the final Daredevil.

How far did you get with Invincible? It didn't hook me until the 40s or 50s maybe? I definitely could have given up on it early but I'm sooooo glad I stick with it. It's one of the better books out there now.bada wrote:Read Undertow and Mercenary Sea. Enjoyed Undertow the art was pretty wild but Mercenary Sea fell flat with me. Yeah I didn't really get sucked in until the 3rd or 4th volume on Invincible. Then it just got to where it was getting better and better and better.HardTI wrote:How far did you get with Invincible? How far behind are you in Injustice? Ah fuck it. Injustice is actually a better book and you're more familiar with the characters. It will be more impactful.
Sorry, Kaius.... I really wanted him to get into Invincible too.
