A peak into the future on a few of the songs just listed...

Faithfull will lose to Tremor Christ in a nailbiter
Last Exit will go up against Corduroy. And everyone loves Corduroy
Rival will be no match for Given to Fly
All or None will have a tough loss to SOLAT.
Breath could beat Yellow Ledbetter. That's a toss up, but edge to YL
Sleight of Hand will never get past both RVM and In My Tree, edge to In My Tree
Nothing as it Seems, Nothingman, Not For You will all be neck and neck in that group. Edge to NFY

And Last Exit beat Immortality or Corduroy or one of those heavy hitters one year. Don't count it out just yet :)

If we have a wider cross section of voters than regular RM posters then everything I say may just go out the window.

Breath just doesn't seem that well loved around here for some reason. Maybe I'm all wet.

You know, now that I look at it again, Yellow Ledbetter might not get past Let it Ride. Could be the trendy pick for the cool kids

We should have a bracket pool for the PJ March Madness once it gets down to 64.

They're both tremendous songs, but Yellow Ledbetter is criminally under appreciated by many, and further hamstrung by live associations. Whereas Breath (like SOLAT) is one of those early anthems that even the anti early anthem crowd seems to really like.

Yellow Ledbetter has suffered by over exposure recently. It's lost it's groove which is sad as it's a good track. But it happens to a lot of good material.

Can you keep track of how many matches each album wins/loses?

actually, while I really like that idea, I will realistically not have time to track this. I hope someone else does, though

Disappointing that Ghost lost to Other Side. Glad that Lightning Bolt beat Lukin. Some tough choices coming up in round 2.

I agreed with most of the results of round 1 (except for OtE/Sunburn. Tragic), but I'm disagreeing with a lot of the round 2 trends.

I've never thought of SOLAT as an anthem, is it generally considered to be very anthemic?

Peeking ahead to the 2nd round, there are some ridiculously hard matchups coming up. I might have to reserve to coin flipping. Right off the bat, Animal vs No Way / Rival vs You Are / I Got Shit vs Red Mosquito / Parting Ways vs Indifference / Hard to Imagine vs Education.... that pretty much says it all.
