I am in the same boat. I didn't even know Lara had a story. I understand she's British? Hell, I don't give a shit. I just want to navigate some tombs.

I guess in this one the tombs are few and optional. The focus is more on her story and combat, but with some exploration Metroidvania-type stuff thrown in. The reviews are pretty positive.

Hmm, even without the traditional puzzle-tomb mechanics all I've seen is 9/10 from reputable sources. Gonna have to give it a go.

If it truly is a mix between Uncharted and Resident Evil 4 then I am all in. I'll let you all know what I think of it.

About 2 hours into Tomb Raider. So far I'm really enjoying it. It does seem like a mixture of Resident Evil 4 and Uncharted. The art direction is fantastic as well.

Uncharted deviates too far from the puzzles as the series went on. I loved running around, looking at my journal trying to figure out how to get through some of those rooms.

I agree. Uncharted 3 had a few good ones though. Apparently the Vita Uncharted game had a lot more puzzles and collectibles.

I'm not a big gamer. But the Tomb Raider series is one of my favorite things ever. I'm absolutely going to grab the new one. Maybe even right now...

I just got an email from Blizzard about a Star Craft 2 expansion. I haven't heard about it otherwise, but then again I don't frequent game websites. Anyone have any info on this? I've barely played SC2 but I'd like to do what I can to keep up the PC gaming fight against those nihilistic console gamers.

More about console gamers: In case you'd forgotten, you are what is wrong with the world. Warrantless wiretaps? That was you. Waterboarding? You again. Arab Spring, despite all those rosy promises made early on- that inevitable shistorm was your fault as well. I don't know how you live with yourselves, you soldier for hire you. Sequester? definitely you. And the list goes on.

I was in here a few months ago asking about Xbox vs. PS3 because I'm planning on getting a system (my first console in 10+ years!) after my exams in April, and based on your feedback I'm going to go with the PS3! So with a month to go, I have a few questions...

1. Is hard drive space really all that important for the PS3? I'm waffling between the 250GB and the 500GB system, but I don't know if the extra $30 is worth it if I'm never going to fill up the hard drive.

2. Is there anywhere to get a reliable controller for less than like $45? I don't think my fiancee will be into playing games with me at all, but I'm looking for another one just in case.

3. Is the wireless internet connection on the PS3 reliable, or should I set up my new apartment so that I can make the system wired?

Thanks, guys! PS, when it comes to games, I'm looking to get started with Uncharted 3 (comes with the system), GTA IV, MLB The Show 2013, and Skyrim. Am I in for long nights and no social life?

1. Unless your gonna tweak your PS3 with a different OS or use it as a media server, 250GB is more than enough, although $30 is a decent price for doubling your HD space.

2. I only have the official PS3 controllers and was able to find them on Amazon for about $40. I have heard bad things about some of the knock-off brands, so be careful.

3. I have found the PS3 wireless connection to be very reliable and the set-up is simple.

How good is it as a media server? Does it play a wide range of filetypes? We have a Western Digital media player in the bedroom right now, and it's great for playing HD movies that I download from torrent sites; my preferred format is .mkv; would the PS3 play that? Is it as easy as hooking up a thumb drive and transferring the files over? Thanks for the responses!

The PS3 will NOT play .mkvs directly. But it can stream them using PS3 Media Server on the host machine. It works surprisingly well and is simple to set up.
