The fact that your only proposal for environmental reforms thus far is to leave Minister Greg? Hunt playing Solitaire for the next three years while you outsource his responsibilities to the same Premiere who presides over the shark cull? That’s been noted too.
And it finishes as strongly as it starts. “Prime Minister, you are welcome to take your heartless, racist exploitation of people’s fears and ram it as far from Western Australia as your taxpayer-funded travel entitlements can take you,” he says

anyway, I can't get your link to open, but if that's the guy, it was a pretty great speech he gave

That's the one. I'm glad it's getting some viral interest as the mainstream media have pretty much left it alone. It's also a pity that it was to a near empty senate.

It's a unique opportunity and I hope it sees a new day in our politics where a politician won't hesitate to call a spade a spade. We have such reactive politicians here.

he was very eloquent. I found it to be a very good speech. also, there's never anyone around in the house or senate in the US when big speeches like that are made either. heaven forbid politicians are present at their jobs...

That's the one. I work for one of the major television networks here and I haven't seen or heard a word regarding this speech on our service.

He was so composed too. That speech was so damning.

Thanks for posting mate, damning stuff indeed. "Awkward and a little bit revolting" :nice:

I just saw the first mention of this on TV (the ABC of course). But it was only in the context of "what's trending" on social media :shake:

Tony wouldn't dare acknowledge it. Our PM has a history of simply ignoring things that might incriminate him...

There are some people you can tell are complete tools just by the typical manner they compose themselves. Tony Abbott has always struck me as falling in that category.

No point starting a new thread just for me since Soma's gone AWOL, and besides - half the globe thinks we're the same country anyway....
It appears we may be changing our flag - well we're going to have a vote on it

I remember the talk about this 12 years ago when I was there. It would be cool looking if the All Blacks fern was integrated in somehow.

Obviously, I'm not as familiar with background like this. I'm just talking from a pure visually appealling standpoint.
