It's not a bad lyric when the next line is:
"And full moon is looking for friends at high tide"
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

Yet Ed wrote it the night after Roskilde in 2000.

im ok with it too, but im not really lyric person, ive always just thought of ed as just another instrument in the band, i may know every word to a song and have no idea what its about.

It's got a touch too much of a Billy Corgan vibe about it for me.

These might be some of the worst lyrics in PJ's catalog. I hate when Eddie thinks he's being intellectual. This song is sooooo boring, especially the choruses. Solo is ok at least. One star.

I don't see it as filler, I just think it's bad.

In general, any song they released as a single probably cannot be filler, because by virtue of releasing it that way they are obviously planning on centering the album around it. To their minds at least, it must be one they put the most work in or are most proud of.
