i have a hard time putting down anything early pearl jam, pete. why go isn't a stand out for that period but i have too much sentiment invested in those fandom years... I haven't voted on this one yet.

It's definitely not much of a song, that's for sure. I always thought Stone's harmonies during the choruses were great, though.

"WMA" for me--my first favorite song on Vs. (other than "Daughter").

Why Go is nice and intense but I've always have found it to be a pretty inconsequential song. It's like a souped up $100,000 muscle car that gets polished, started up, reved over and over but never leaves the garage.

Why Go is the song that most responds to the adolescent-baiting bombast of Ten's production, and that hurts it quite a lot. It actually sounds pretty good live, where it takes on the personality of a more earth-level event. But those drums, and all that "LOOK HOW BIG THIS SHIT IS" stuff that really (to me) doesn't actually damage most of the record looks like a too-big coat on this one. Like way too big.
