I like that Moulson has become some kind of star player. He's realistically a third liner which he proved in Buffalo with his 20 goal pace. Snow should've never given up a first in that deal, but I'll take Collberg. He's more than they would've gotten if they had kept Moulson.

No, the fact he was on the Islanders third line when was traded and the fact he went to Buffalo and was on a 20 goal pace, makes him a third liner.

His 82 games pace over the last five years is for 30, 31, 36, 26 and 25 goals. He has the 16th most goals in the NHL over that span, placing him just ahead of Patrick Sharp, Daniel Sedin and... Thomas Vanek. There's no team in the NHL where Matt Moulson qualifies as a third liner.

Either way, the complaints aren't about how good Moulson is. The complaints are that Snow paid way too much to acquire Vanek, then proceeded to flip Vanek for way too little. Based on the return Buffalo got when they flipped Moulson, it's probably not a stretch to say the Isles could have gotten Collberg straight up for Moulson without having to give up a first and second in the process.

No matter how you look at it or what you think about the players involved, it's absolutely horrible asset management.

where there's a pile of players, and 3 flyers on top? geez man, at least be realistic w/ your flyers hate. erskine and vinny werent even fighting at that point yet, i think erskine was going after simmonds, and that led to the pile up with 3 flyers on top. which somehow you interpret as all fighting john erskine at the same time, like he's the only caps player there. you are wrong, it was 2 flyers, simmonds and vinny.

At least the Sens fans still care. There is just a sense of defeat in Vancouver. Since the 2011 finals, Vancouver has been on a pretty quick death spiral. We have the worst coach in the league, a GM that is despised by everyone it seems and we play the most boring hockey imaginable.

Check Luongo's tweets during Vancouver's 6-1 loss last night. I think he harbours a grudge.

I'm not sure he harbours a grudge... I think he's just hilarious.

It seems kinda harsh considering how much success the Canucks have had in the last decade, but I think they're slipping into a situation similar to where the Leafs found themselves post-lockout and where the Flames were until about a year ago; they have a few talented players on the roster, but they're aging and just not that good anymore. The Leafs had Sundin as a huge trade chip, but they weren't able to move him because he wouldn't let them. The Flames had Iginla, but they held on too long in a desperate attempt to contend and didn't get full value for him. The Canucks have the Sedins, but they look like they're losing value pretty quickly. At least they have a few good prospects in place that they can build around, but I think the need to start rebuilding before everyone's value completely craters.

not to belabor the point, but I said they should've blown it up after 2011...fired AV, traded the Sedins, and re-tooled around Kesler as the focal point...I said then they had a lot of problems based on how they acted during that entire finals series and that there had to be guys in that room who wanted nothing to do with the shenanigans that went on for those two weeks...the pure talent was good enough to get by on for a little bit, but the problems that started to show in the playoffs 2 years ago against LA only exacerbated all of last year, and this year it's even worse...and now they've made it worse by re-signing the Sedins at 7 mil a year each for however many years...
