One of the few silver disc bootlegs I still have from the early days. One of the discs got damaged a while ago so tonight I uploaded it to the computer to see if I could get a good rip out of it and voila, good as new. This "Off He Goes" is a beaut--this is one of the few songs that Matt just genuinely does not understand how to play, it misses so much with that overpronounced 4/4 rock beat in place of Jack's lightfooted shuffle. Pretty decent sound for an audience tape.
Which bootleg are you listening to?

20 years ago today, PJ began their final leg of the Vs. tour... The final shows with the great Dave A. Time to get nostalgic with the boots...
great intense versions of songs from the first two albums, and the Vitalogy songs were about to be tested live...
They peaked here.

It's tough to argue against late March / April 1994.

Lubbok Texas 2000 Leg 2 of N American Tour.
Cover of "everyday" is cool. Sound quality on 2nd leg not as good as 1st leg boots.

I listened to Atlanta - April 3, 1994. I haven't listened to it in a few years. Spectacular Porch. Great show, but not the best of all time, nor the best of 1994, nor the best of the leg.

Re: What bootleg are you listening to?
I think there are a lot of great points here. One thing I miss so much from 98-2003 period was when Eddie could have that growl or grumble or whatever you want to call it. His voice was aggressive and forceful. For example... go listen to any performance of "Not For You" and when the line " Stormed my rooooom" comes up, its just totally blows me away and gets me so amped. "Grievance" is another song from 2000-2003 that was just amazing with energy and that type of growl. "DTE" can also be used as a great example of the voice i miss.
I hesitated to listen to the last performance of Grievance on the 2013 NA tour in Charlottesville VA, but i went ahead and got the boot... and after listening... i just cringed and said to my girlfriend who is equally a rabid fan like myself, that they should never play that song again. Evolution had a couple of respectable performances (Phoenix '13, remarkably, because that show was a disaster as a whole). But Evolution should be played once or twice a tour if at all.
I meant to have a broader point to this... I agree with mostly everyone. The usual complainers are easy to predict but the posters that say some critical thoughts really shed light and reality on what PJ have become. And the comment about 160 songs and not being able to nail them like they once did with 30-60 songs is so spot on.
I do believe getting older and having families and trying to maintain a certain economic lifestyle has a lot to do with the sell-out aspects of the band. Its all nice to have a liberal political point of view but capitalism comes to mind first when taking care of number 1.

The Leg 2 boots are a little bit hotter/brighter and Eddie's vocal sometimes gets lost in the mix. Definitely a step back.resonance of distance wrote:Lubbok Texas 2000 Leg 2 of N American Tour.

Just the PJ songs in FLAC would be great! I know I said I just wanted the Yield songs in my original post but I meant just the PJ songs. I'd love STBC and Nothingman too.Birds in Hell wrote:Hey man, I can help you out if needed - it's just the Pearl Jam set you want?bada wrote:Nope no luck.Coach wrote:Did you ever find this? Not to ride bada's coattails here but I would appreciate those files too if it isn't too much trouble--my copy is really low-grade.
