Concerts you've been to recently
I saw Deftones tonight for the first time. Had a fantastic time. Passenger as the closer was fucking awesome.

Andrew Bird last week. Pretty great show. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought. I only recognized about five songs (I'm not too familiar with his work, I only own one of his albums. He's an amazing violinist. World-class, I'd say.
Saw Mingus Big Band a couple of weeks ago at the Jazz Standard in NYC. One of the greatest things I've ever seen.

Saw this band called Caveman the other day at a small room in Cambridge. I had never heard of them but I enjoyed the show.

Deftones are fucking awesome. Their recent album, Koi No Yokan, is really good. I wish they'd come here.

I saw Deftones for the first time Friday night in Toronto. Great show, loved every minute of it. The opening band on the other hand was horrible.

Madolin Orange at Motroco in Durham is the last small show I've seen. Great duo out of Chapel Hill:

Re: Concerts you've been to recently
My definition of recently has changed quite considerably in the last few years. In the past 12 months, the only concerts I've seen are Black Keys at Madison Square Garden last March, Bruce Springsteen at Madison Square Garden last April, and the Globalfest at Central Park last September (Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters, Black Keys, Band of Horses, and K'Naan[?]).

Cory Branan and Jon Snodgrass a couple of weeks back. Great show.
Too many of the shows I'd like to go to are on week nights. I'm too old for that shit now....

We are seeing lucero with shovels and rope in 2 weeks and cloud cult in April, we will also probably see the national in June and still contemplating bonnaroo again

Seriously. Last good show I went to was Lotus/Com Truise/Moon Hooch at Stubb's in Austin. All were good, Lotus though started to drive me crazy towards the end with they're "the song is ending...nowOHWAITNOIT'SNOT" thing. I just can't really do jam bands at the end of the day. They were definitely one of the better ones I've seen though.Birds in Hell wrote:Jealous.theplatypus wrote:Saw Mingus Big Band a couple of weeks ago at the Jazz Standard in NYC. Lotus blows dick. Neo hippie nonsense.
Bonnie Billy last month for my birthday was one of the greatest shows I've experienced in some time.

I saw Hot Water Music and Menzingers last month. HWM was really good. I'd like to hear Pearl Jam cover Trusty Chords.
Have Joe Bonamassa with a backstage pass and Revival Tour in April.

Spenno's at a Neil Young & Crazy Horse concert right now. I'm super jealous.
