With that pic, the new album should be called: (Joe) Dirt.

Is that Jerry Cantrell or David Spade?

Edit: EJ's too quick!

Edit No. 2: And a lot funnier than me.

Jar Of Flies captures everything i love about them. But i cant listen to it all the time, its just too dark, the same with Tripod.
I said it on the old board but if there was a way to give a something more than five stars on iTunes that EP would get it. It's just perfect from end to end and is everything I wanted out of the band and a perfect expansion of what Sap promised.

yeah - Jar of Flies is absolutely perfect. If they had put all of the songs on Jar of Flies that were on Sap (except for the hidden track) and released it as one album it would easily be on everyone's short list of best albums of all time. As it stands now, Jar of Flies is still one of my favorite albums.

I agree.

And that hidden track is very frightening

New album is coming on May 14th....and the reason behind the title is pretty awesome.

Im looking forward to this one, even if Hollow kinda sucked.

Ok, i listened to Stone a fer more times and from a better source, and it sounds better. The band actually has more space in the mix than in BGWTB and, even if its not groundbreaking at all,it does contain a few surprises...i actually like the bass intro and some of the spirals Jerry makes with the guitar.

I think Layne's nasal screech was such an important instrumental aspect of the band's sound that it can't help but sound like there's something missing for me - love or hate his voice, it was definitely unique, almost like having a saxophone blaring over the songs. Without that, it just doesn't sound like Alice in Chains.

Been listening to the tripod album today. So dark. The way Layne's vocals were layered ended up sounding almost....unsettling. Some of the sludgy sounding things on this album don't sound that far removed from the way Jerry writes these days, the difference is the vocals just aren't compelling enough.

Have the Dinosaurs and Devils leaked out yet? If this one bombs maybe they should just go away and put the band name to rest...

The tripod album is one of the darkest records i have ever heard. You can see how the band was about to fade...and Layne too.
I was surprised on how much work Staley have in that record...

Im listening to jar of flies on vinyl and sounds so beautiful...still believe this ep is the best ep ever.

About the new album, i really want to like it, specially after the good surprise of BGWTB, but it seems its going to sound like Degradation trip or something like that....i hope they change producer next time.

I always thought the AIC unplugged was one of, if not the best unplugged of that era.

I like that song alright but why did they even bother bringing in Duvall if they weren't going to let him sing? This is just Jerry solo shit...
