I don't really like footsteps all that much anymore, but santa cruz is not a good song.

I kinda like it actually. That was one of the better Christmas singles.

Ed's usually pretty good at making his folk songs not sound cookie cutter, but not here. Santa Cruz bores the shit out of me.

Yeah, I feel the same. "Footsteps" grates on me a bit, but "Santa Cruz" is so bland.

I love the full-band live version of "Footsteps." Those 2000 versions with the tasteful little guitar solo in the middle, and Eddie's vocal performance dialed back a few notches--fantastic. This and "Ledbetter" were also the songs that introduced me to the very idea of the non-album B-side, and for that they will forever retain a kind of residual mystique for me that no amount of objective criticism shall ever squelch. Plus "Santa Cruz" blows.

Footsteps is still one of my favorite Ten era songs.
I actually like Santa Cruz, guilty pleasure maybe, but I enjoy it a lot.

Love footsteps. The full band versions are usually pretty great. My favorite being from Red Rocks 95.

Santa Cruz is nice and i have good memories of it as I was at the show he first played it. Reminds me of a good summer.

Footsteps for the win.

These match ups are making me dig up some tunes I haven't listened to in a while. nice.

I'm blanking on the show but my favorite is the one where he says "this is act 3". Zurich 93?

I still consider Footsteps one of PJ's most boring, overrated songs

I appreciate Footsteps, but never been a fan of the song as a listening experience. Voted for it simply bc of its historical significance in PJ history.

I actually quite like Santa Cruz. It has a few hiccups, but it's a fun one-off
