The Canucks are another example of this, how is the league supposed to sell their product to a skeptical American public when they see players like Subban and Alex Burrows diving all over the ice like they just got shot when someone checks them. Subban should have gotten a diving penalty after that hit by Thornton, and I'm starting to think diving penalties are not enough. You start giving guys misconducts for diving and maybe they think twice. This isnt just a Bruins fan angry about a loss, Marchand dives all over the place as well and it isnt good for the sport. Montreal is just one of the more egregious violators.
You guys are sore losers. The Bruins are just a guilty as anyone, and do you think that any diving had any ramifications on your team losing that game? Because the only dive that did, was the one where Seguin does down in a heap and caused Chara to flip out. Honestly, I watch every single Habs game and I don't see it being any worse than other teams. A player gets a stick in the face, they throw their head back. A player gets pushed into the boards, they fall down. It's part of the game, and ultimately refs can be manipulated.
people who are on the fence don't care about diving. it doesn't hurt the league in attracting new fans. it bothers people who know hockey. we need to get away from blaming the refs. the players making bone head plays or not finishing chances is why they lose. can't stand hearing the ref argument.

I'll be honest, when I first saw a replay of the hit I laughed because it looked like such a standard shove and Seguin dropped so easily and stayed down so long. Having watched it again, maybe it was legitimate... but it doesn't look like the type of play worthy of the reaction from Seguin.
I should also add that Clarke MacArthur broke his stick receiving a breakaway pass yesterday.
We arent sore losers(well, we are, but this has nothing to do with being a sore loser.) Do you really think Bruins fans are that upset about losing a regular season game? We bitched about this in regards to Vancouver after we just beat them to win the stanley cup. It's not about the Bruins or winning and losing, it's about the growth of an incredible sport in America. Someone mentioned soccer earlier, I'm a huge soccer fan, but when someone brings up the diving as a reason they dont watch it, I have no rebuttal. It just doesnt belong in either sport and is a huge hindrance to growth in popularity for both of them.

I dont blame the refs at all really when it comes to diving. They are in a no win situation.
everyone watched Charlie Conway refuse to fake a high sticking penalty, even with the butt of a stick in his face and his coach telling him to flop in the first Mighty Ducks. Forget sports fans, people value honesty in everything and any sign of faking it turns them off.

I'm fine with the Montreal loss as long as we can pick ourselves up from it and not enter some sort of slide starting with a BS game where we're up by three and only end up with a single point. I mean, um...uh-oh.

There are rumors the Bruins are interested in Ribeiro...if this is true and they actually acquire him, I'll shut up forever about Montreal and their attempts to not only play hockey, but qualify for Olympic Diving as well
I reserve the right to still bitch about Vancouver's own problems with this issue though

I'm not sure what's worse...Blowing a 3-goal lead to the last place team, or getting trounced by the Islanders.
At least your team got a point.
