If you asked me 6 months ago, I probably would've taken Porch. But I think it got way overplayed last tour, and I just got tired of it on the bootlegs.

"Light Years"--I love its misshapen sense of craftsmanship, as well as the lyrics and the instrumental middle. "Porch" rocks but I don't think there's much of a song in it.

The solo section of Porch is great moody playing. The rest is a pretty unremarkable underwritten 90's rocker.

Just listened to Light Years again and almost forgot how beautiful a line/idea that "Your life is reflected now..." is and how the song makes me feel. Gonna stay with Porch though.

Kudos PJ for having such a strong catalogue that I can so often have the glorious surprise of rediscovery.

i like light years a lot, but porch always holds a special place for me. it might be the first song that i've ever actually had a physical reaction to, like it literally makes my heart beat faster. it also shows that music doesnt need to be complex to be moving. there's a part during mtv's unplugged where they are coming out of the middle "improv", everyone is just hammering on A and eddie is just singing up a scale, but its one of the most emotive parts of any pearl jam performance ive ever seen. simply put, i fuckin love porch.
