I prefer the 1998 set overall but they're both top shelf Pearl Jam.Self wrote:Self Pollution is the better 'pirate radio whatever,' you guys.

I prefer the 1998 set too. I prefer the song selection and I think the performances are just a little bit better. But yeah, we're splitting hairs over top shelf shit here.Birds in Hell wrote:I prefer the 1998 set overall but they're both top shelf Pearl Jam.Self wrote:Self Pollution is the better 'pirate radio whatever,' you guys.

I'm revisiting my 2006 mix and loving what I hear. They were so dialed in on that tour, even from the start. I miss this band.

Listened to most of Calgary. Some bloody awful moments from Ed, Mike and Stone. The delay/out of sync on the ride or a right cymbal is just slack production. Last Exit really felt deflated.

Mary's revenge. It's a shame that the technical snafu occurred. It really killed the momentum of the show. Still a really good show.resonance of distance wrote:Philadelphia 2005

This show starts out about as good as it gets. Unfortunately Ed gets way too drunk and the encores really suffer. Although I really love Harvest Moon from the first encore.resonance of distance wrote:Philadelphia 2005

This is a good example of how quickly they've gone downhill. In 2005 they played the greatest show they ever played in Philly. Just four years later, they played four of the worst shows they've ever played in Philly. And it hasn't gotten any better.Hugh Mungus wrote:This show starts out about as good as it gets. The problem with the 2009 shows is that the boots sound terrible. I agree the Halloween show was a mess, but the first and third shows in Philly that year I thought were good in person. They made mistakes in some of the songs they dusted off (Habit sounds awful), but the bootlegs did these shows no favors.

I wasn't there for any of them but shitting on those shows is really getting old. Whenever someone wants to talk about how terrible Pearl jam is now points to these shows. It's annoying.TouringReg wrote:Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:This is a good example of how quickly they've gone downhill. In 2005 they played the greatest show they ever played in Philly. It's beyond annoying at this point. I thought it was annoying when people kept ripping Boston 03 too. That lasted until the Spectrum shows were released. Move on. There's plenty of other shows to be extremely over-critical of folks. Night 3 is a very good show. Night 4 is a very fun show that's hard not to enjoy.Hugh Mungus wrote:I wasn't there for any of them but shitting on those shows is really getting old. It is the worst when people who think Pearl Jam isn't good point to an example of an instance where they weren't good to prove that they're not good.Hugh Mungus wrote:I wasn't there for any of them but shitting on those shows is really getting old. It's even worse when they only point to the same shows over and over to prove their point. I feel this is an example of bandwagoning more than actual belief. How many people can list actual and specific deficiencies with these shows? I'd love a LAL: Spectrum discussion.Lament wrote:It is the worst when people who think Pearl Jam isn't good point to an example of an instance where they weren't good to prove that they're not good.Hugh Mungus wrote:I wasn't there for any of them but shitting on those shows is really getting old. Yeah, it makes a lot of sense for people who think Pearl Jam isn't good to spend all their time talking about instances where they weren't good so they can prove to everyone why they're not good anymore.
Seriously, what a waste of fucking time. When 99% of a few peoples posts are negative maybe it's time they move on. Clearly some of you are over Pearl Jam and that's totally ok but I don't understand why you would spend so much time talking about how shitty they are.
