Most of their Binaural stuff was best in 2000. Hate to beat that drum, but it's probably because they were practicing them. You can't really toss out a Sleight of Hand or Evacuation without an rehearsal in the same way you maybe could with Gonna See My Friend or Supersonic.

I agree. The studio is where it's at. This song is the kind of "rock" I like from Pearl Jam. The 2:20ish mark to the end of the song is some of the best work I've ever heard Pearl Jam do.

It WAS a great tour in terms of playing, Ed's voice, and the lack of popularity-pleading/showboating.

I don't know if it's the best version, but Katowice 2 is pretty good.

The only show from that tour I've actually listened to in the last 10 years is probably Milan.

Or, maybe Vegas? Somewhere in the US that isn't a Jones or a Beach, anyway.

If you have them, check out Katowice 2 and Lubbock. Both are great, and the latter is really underrated. Lubbock was a fine night for Pearl Jam.

Best PJ song of the Matt Cameron era.
Agreed. And, worthy of winning this whole thing.
I'm surprised this doesn't get played more often

I'm voting for the best use of a rest in the band's entire catalogue.

that's why i voted for animal

no way only exists on headphones

its basically perfect on headphones

but cannot exist in the real world

insignificance has a similar issue. the live versions just don't make my peen tingle the way the studio version does

but animal thrashes my junk like a cheap slut in a conjugal visit trailer

ugh
when youre talking about Pearl Jam, a band more known for its live shows than studio recordings over the last few years
UGH
and especially considering some of us have over 100 live versions of some songs, and have no doubt heard the live versions more than the studio.
UGH

Thanks for explaining why im in the wrong even though virtually every post in this thread since your in depth analysis has been about the live versions of songs. Right...

One of the Chicago shows post 2000 has a pretty decent version of Insignificance I believe? crowd was pretty into it on the floor too.

McParadigm seems to genuinely hate the idea of bands playing live.
