It's championed around these parts at quite a high rate.

This has been the best matchup up to this date, IMO.

Definitely, Release. It's like a top 5 PJ song for me. Of The Girl is lovely and amazing. But I'm team Release.

Damn, this one's tough. I have to hold my vote a while and think about it.

I'm leaning towards Of The Girl, but voting against Release makes me very sad

Toughest one for me. I think I have to go with Of The Girl.

Release is classic and one of my favorites but I can put on Of The Girl at any moment and stop whaever Im doing to feel the groove. Of The Girl was done by a band on a different plane.

Release, I still love you.

For this one I'm limiting myself to only considering the studio versions - there are sublime live versions of both these tracks out there anyways, so it probably doesn't matter that much.

Man I love 'Of the Girl'. I love the 'chugg' it has going, the feel it gets. Groovy groovy tune. And then there's 'Release'.

OK, mind made up, vote has been cast.

The strongest reaction I've ever had to of the girl is 'oh, this is kinda cool in a smokey sort of way'. Release has, on occasion, been literally breathtaking.

I love "Of the Girl". I really couldn't even tell you why. I am listening to it right now smoking a cigarette and drinking a coffee.

But "Release" is an all time favourite. It has been mentioned earlier in the thread but this song changed so much for me when my father passed 13 years ago. Now when I hear it and more so when I can sing along it makes me feel as though I am talking to him. May sound silly but this song hits me like no other. My sister passed away in January this year and I actually plagiarised the line "I'll wait up in the dark for you to speak to me" to finish her eulogy. This song really is it for me in the emotional stakes. Funnily enough though it never depresses me listening to it, where as I struggle to listen to "Let it Be" by the Beatles because of its link to my sister.

A classic.
But as it is will dream of her tonight..

That's a wonderful lyric, especially the way his voice rises during it

Release. Can't bring myself to vote against one of the defining Pearl Jam moments, the end of that song is breathtaking on the album and when played right. It always has been, even if sometimes we don't listen to it because we've all heard it so many times.

The American dream apparently consists primarily of getting away with spying on bangin' trees.

I thought the American dream was cheese on meat. Preferably cheddar.
