The Chiefs remind me of the Panthers from a two years ago, a decent overall team that had a horrible record due to basically having no QB and no offense to speak of beyond a very conservative running game. This team isn't that different than the one that made the playoffs two years ago beyond their QB play completely nosediving.

So Dwayne Bowe finally agreed to a long term deal with the Chiefs. Like I've said before, fans like d,t should keep on being a bit more optimistic with Kansas City. I know that I'm more nervous that the Broncos might actually have some decent competition in the division next year.

Yeah, they scare me as much as anyone in the division. Huge upgrade at coach and a sizable if not gigantic upgrade at QB. Only the two most meaningful positions you can upgrade. And they already had a solid defense and running game.

Six teams that were good/decent last year that could be worse: BAL, PIT, CIN, IND, DAL, MIN

They do have a lot of cap room, and they could be poised to make some big additions. I just think that they caught a lot of teams by surprise last year and it won't be quite as easy this year. They're not going to be horrible but a 7-8-9 win season wouldn't surprise me.

For now. Franchised Starks (which I like) and now this rumored $6.5 for Hartline, I'm starting to get nervous that Ireland is going to do what Carolina did a couple of years ago, which was to fall in love with their own talent even though that talent took them all the way to like a 2-14 season.

I realize that in free agency you generally have to overpay for top guys, but I still don't like it. But this team is so bad at WR that's probably the route they have to go. I wouldn't mind them signing Wallace but still spending one or two of their first five picks (in the the first three rounds) on a couple other WRs.

I want Tebow to go to the Patriots. There I said it. I feel dirty all over for admitting it. And no, it's not in the "I hope he goes there and is a disaster" kind of way. I want the Pats to trade Mallet and groom Tebow to be Brady's successor.

The oddest part of this desire is that Pats fans would probably recoil at the thought and fans of every other team would probably rejoice.

While everyone talks about the McDaniels connection, it's important to remember that he never considered starting Tebow even when the Broncos' season was going down the drain. It could just be as likely that McD thought that Tebow wasn't going to work out.

Tebow's problem, which really isn't his fault, is that he'll bring the Tebowmaniacs to wherever he goes, and that may turn teams off.

Tebow to the Pats, would put him in the same place he is with the Jets. Brady isn't leaving for 4 years. Tebow needs to go somewhere that he can play and play a lot if he's going to be the QB. Like Arizona (which would make Larry Fitz pull what's left of his hair out) I still like the idea of him working with Mike Mularkey but if the Kybosh is on there, there are plenty of places with poor QB play I'm just not sure there are going to be any takers. He's got a great skill set in general, he's just not NFL accurate when it comes to passing.

If he goes to the Pats, it makes a lot more sense using him as a back with Brady on the field at QB and more of the way Florida did his freshman year. If he gets enough playing time (and he might have enough by now in practice, he could work his way into a position, but I think it's going to take more time with people seeing him do it as a QB to believe he's a QB, until then he just needs to be on the field. He's a freaking weapon in the backfield, a throwback to 60's Wingbacks. Just put on RB pads, and protect his damned shoulders. The heavy looks they could display and pass out of would be ridiculous.

As far as Revis, I love the fact that I could get the NFL's comeback player of the year next year in a contract season for a decent price for one year. He's a steal for an already well built team like San Francisco. Get him for a year and let him bolt for Dallas for 12 million a season after the season.

Yeah, this is really the worst part of it. Any team who would consider taking him has to deal with the potential ESPN circus and will likely decided that whatever potential benefit he may (or may not) have above other available options simply isn't worth the ESPNgasm that follows him around.

I'd rather Tebow go into a situation where he has no chance of playing, and will therefore bring no controversy with him, like New England. Just let him sit back and learn from a master. He's not accurate enough to last in the league right now. But I really believe that he can overcome that with time.

Asked about the future of DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket amid rising sports costs, [DirecTv CFO] said that if the price tag went too high in the next rights deal negotiations, DirecTV would consider striking a non-exclusive deal with the NFL or possibly even dropping the package. DirecTV's current NFL Sunday Ticket deal expires in 2015.

Can't help but wonder if the Redzone, available to cable and other satellite companies, ate into the demand? I can see the Sunday Ticket having value if your favorite team is not the local team but otherwise why not just have the almost always Redzone?
