This turned up yesterday, and fuck it sounds good! Although it makes me feel old getting these 20 year anniversary bundles and remembering when they first came out...

I just went for the vinyls (which also had the bonus materials) for like $40 a pop.

Re: The Vinyl Thread: Still Listen On Wax, Don't Use The CD
I was a happy little camper today with the arrival of:
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - "Ease Down The Road"
Bill Callahan - "Rough Travel for a Rare Thing"
I've been looking for that Bill Callahan record for a while, as it's out of print, and I checked the label's website about once a week for a year to see if it went back in stock. Last week, I noticed it had and ordered it immediately. An hour or so later, someone from the label e-mailed me to say they had run out of them again, and that he'd give me a refund. The same afternoon...he e-mailed to let me know that he'd found one in the depths of the warehouse! I'm as pumped about this as you could imagine. Always order directly from indie labels whenever you can!

The single LP versions are like $22 I think. They're on Amazon too.Gods' Die wrote:Okay, didn't check out the price. Definitely not paying that much for remastered Zeppelin.

Yep, that's where I bought mine. I might even buy the CD's too. But im not spending $60 per for what amounts to a picture book

That's right in line...I'd love to have some Zep; they were my favorite band for years in HS before I starting discovering PJ.southp wrote:The single LP versions are like $22 I think. Yup, Drag City. I love how they don't charge shipping and that the prices are reasonable. I'll order from them until the day I die.

Think I can get a good pair of headphones for between $60-$80?

Nah, I've never bought a "good" pair of headphones. I use cheap $7 headphones for my iPod, and I never use headphones for my stereo.

Grado SR60i. I have had the 80i's for the past 3 years. I really don't think anything can touch them for the price.Simple Torture wrote:Think I can get a good pair of headphones for between $60-$80?

never would have bought headphones on my own but these are pretty good to my ears. they're kind of ugly, though. but from what i can tell the price can't be beat and they get decent if not good reviews.

Invest in a good pair. I never used headphones for home listening until I got mine. Now my listening time is split pretty evenly between headphones and main speakers on my stereo.Simple Torture wrote:Nah, I've never bought a "good" pair of headphones.
